The Dress

This is a beautiful, fully beaded gown by Eliza Jane Howell of London in a 1920s - 1930s vintage, ART DECO style with a boat / illusion sweetheart neckline, plunging back, and long sleeves, with a short godet train. It is a lovely soft PEARLY (not bright) WHITE (this dress does come in a silver color from the designer as well).

I purchased this beautiful dress online from a bridal shoppe in the United Kingdom since I couldn't find a single accessible stockist in the US. But unfortunately it was a bit too large for me - I am a street size 6 or 8 (bust 36, waist 28, hips 39) and was hoping the UK 12 would work as it is supposed to translate to roughly a US 8, however, it fits more like a US 10/12 as far as I can tell.

The MEASUREMENTS of the dress are roughly bust 38-42 max, waist 32-35 max, hips 39-43 max. Last 4 photos are of ACTUAL DRESS, with tags, on a dress form set to 41" -34" -41" For serious inquiries - if you would like to send your measurements, I can send photos of the dress with the form set to your EXACT SIZE.

The dress has quite a bit of give and could certainly accommodate slightly larger measurements, or slightly smaller, as the weight of the beading gives it a very nice drape on the figure even when a bit loose. The waist was the only real issue for me, and could certainly have been tailored down to fit but I decided to go with a simple satin gown instead.

It is truly a STUNNING and glamorous garment, which is a great mix of modest and sexy, and would be well suited to any figure and would look amazing for an art deco themed wedding. Another nice feature - it does NOT weigh a ton like most beaded gowns and the sequins are not noticeably scratchy!

The dress is like NEW, and has never been worn, except for try-ons and photos on my dress form inside my home. No damage to the beading, whatsoever. Please NOTE: the bottom hem underneath may have slight dust / soiling from being moved around and touching the floor during fitting and photography, but will absolutely not be significant enough to be noticed while wearing or to necessitate extensive drycleaning. Please do not purchase second-hand dresses and expect them to be as if they were made for you and never been handled or touched a floor before!! My dress is being listed as a SAMPLE, not brand new, at a steep discount. NO RETURNS or claims will be honored.
