The Dress

The beautiful dress is an Inbal Dror 12-05. Purchased from Helen Rodrigues in Neutral Bay, Sydney. It is the most beautiful dress you will ever wear.

THE STORY

There's a bit of a magical story with this dress, so read on... This dress was actually the second dress I bought. I had visited Helen Rodrigues to get the full bridal-Hollywood-movie-like-experience and tried on some beautiful gowns but knew I wouldn't buy one. Then I continued on, looking for other gowns and I found one. It wasn't a show stopper, but it felt good, it was on a budget (win!). It was modern and edgy and cool. Basically, everything that I am not, haha!

A month before my wedding, I was desperately trying to style my modern so-so dress, and not just style it but find some underwear that would work. I continually found NOTHING. Nothing was working. The underwear sucked. I worked out, fasted, detoxed but I never felt confident wearing it. I spoke with a bridesmaid, and she asked me what my dream wedding dress would be. I told her I always imagined wearing something classic and incredibly beautiful, and that I would purchase it from Helen Rodrigues. She said - Let's go.

I booked another appointment with Helen, and we found THE dress. The dress that made me feel beautiful even though I had not lost the weight I thought I would, or had the butt I thought I would or the arms etc etc... I was never the problem. The dress was! The only issue... the cost!

I was fortunate enough to receive some inheritance after my incredible grandmother passed away. There was a catch, it needed to be used for a house deposit... I decided to visit her grave, awaiting a sign that it would be okay for me to use the money. My grandmother wore beautiful clothing and always looked immaculate. Even as she was dying she insited she had some lipstick on. As I sat at her grave, reminiscing about her style, and grace - I knew I could buy the dress. She would have wanted me to feel my absolute best on my wedding day. I called Helen right at her grave and said - I'll take it. It felt so right.

Wearing the gown at my wedding was incredible. Everything came together so beautifully, and I felt confident and sexy, and most importantly, myself.

I had promised to keep the dress until I was done having children, just in case I had a daughter that might want to wear it. I've now had my little girl and I can tell from her sassy, confident personality that she wouldn't want to wear her Mother's dress (I never forgave my mum for giving her's away!). But there is an extra train on the dress that detaches and I am going to keep this piece ... maybe my sassy little one will use it to make her dress, (or jumpsuit... or whatever she wants) one day.

It feels completely right to sell it on to another beauty. The money will go back into that house deposit to honour my late grandmother's wishes.

THE DRESS

Beyonce has worn Inbal Dror - enough said, right?

The dress is ivory lace on nude. It has a stunning exposed lace nude corset on the back. It is made of luxurious French lace applique, soft tulle, and embellished with beautiful crystals and pearls throughout. The dress has hook closure down the back as well as a natural waist accentuated by a delicate stitched-on decorative belt. The dress is so form-fitting and flattering, and also extremely light and comfortable. The fabric has a lot of stretch to it so it fits like a glove. It was easy to move, dance and sit in the dress.

The dress accentuated my bust, waist, hips and bum. I felt incredible in the dress, and you will too.

* The length of the dress was altered. I am 157 cms, and wore 11.5cm (4.5in) heel. The dress can easily be shortened further. I wore mine quite long to maintain the beautiful second layer of lace at the front
* The waist and bust were taken in and cups were added to provide me with extra support. These can be removed if you are naturally busty!
* All alterations were completed by a couture alteration specialist
* Hidden wrist-band underneath the train to allow for dancing
* Additional train piece not included - the photos do not show it.
