Vivienne Westwood, Nova Cocotte

Hello! I’m selling my Vivienne Westwood Nova Cocotte, purchased directly from Vivienne Westwood’s LA Atelier and professionally altered by VW-preferred tailor Sarah Rothan.

Alterations include:
- Double French bustle with two height options, in addition to the original built-in tie bustle
- Darting added to the bodice for a more sculpted fit (I was going for a Greek sculpture look, and it's fully reversible)
- The dress was not hemmed, leaving full length for future alterations

Condition:
The dress is in excellent condition overall. One loop on the French bustle opened early on the dance floor (I changed shortly after), and there is no other damage to the gown.

There is a cosmetic deodorant mark on the left underarm (approximately 2.5" x 1.5"). I took the dress to a couture cleaning and restoration specialist, who confirmed the mark is not 100% removable without risking the fabric. I’ve included detailed photos of the underarm, with and without flash, for complete transparency. The mark is not visible when worn, as the sleeves naturally hold the arms down. If desired, it could be concealed with lace detailing or covered using fabric from the hem if you're shorter than me, since the dress length was not altered.

Pricing:
The dress, alterations, and cleaning totaled $11,000. The price reflects a significant reduction to account for the underarm mark, offering an opportunity to own this iconic gown at a substantial discount.

This dress was incredibly comfortable and made me feel more beautiful than anything I’ve ever worn. I’d love for it to bring the same joy to its next owner.
