About the Dress

Absolutely stunning Vivienne Westwood Nova Cocotte wedding dress, crafted from luxurious heavy silk satin. The dress boasts a gorgeous, shiny ivory sheen that catches the light beautifully. The signature structured corset cinches the waist, while the elegant draping falls effortlessly over the body, creating the most timeless and sophisticated silhouette. A small train cascades gracefully as you walk, adding a touch of drama. I purchased this exquisite gown directly from the Vivienne Westwood London store in December 2024 and wore it for my wedding in May 2025. The dress was professionally shortened by the Vivienne Westwood London store to fit my height of 160 cm (approximately 5’3” plus 10 cm (approximately 4”) heels, ensuring a perfect floor-length fit. The Nova Cocotte style runs small, so I would recommend sizing up for the best fit. I am normally a UK size 8 and purchased a UK size 10. Crafted from luxurious heavy silk satin, the dress has a gorgeous shiny ivory sheen that catches the light beautifully. It features a small train that cascades gracefully as you walk. The dress was professionally dry-cleaned. While professionally cleaned, there are minor stains on the inside of the dress at the bottom, and a few minor pulls on the bodice and at the back where a latch was present (these are not very noticeable when worn). I have tried to capture the entire dress on the video for full transparency of any marks or pulls, this is also reflected in the price. I also had a small button added at the bottom of the zip to create a bustle, allowing for easy dancing. The small loop that was very gently sewn in came off on the day unfortunately (with no damage to the dress), however this could be easily re-added by a seamstress. Included with the dress are the original Vivienne Westwood garment bag, original shopping bag.

Alterations

The dress was professionally shortened by the Vivienne Westwood London store to fit my height of 160 cm (approximately 5’3” plus 10 cm (approximately 4”) heels, ensuring a perfect floor-length fit. The front was altered as shown to make the chest draping shorter and we also added some pleats to the front and the sleeves. These are gently tacked in so could be removed if this is preferable.
