About the Dress

Selling the Galia Lahav gown of my dreams so that hopefully another bride can enjoy it as much as I did. I bought this gown through a sample sale as it is a design from a past-season; I then paid $1200 to have it professionally altered by a couture dress specialist in Brisbane so that it fit me perfectly. This dress is SO comfortable and beautiful to wear - even though it is tight through the thighs, I could still sit down/eat/walk up and down stairs/and go hard on the dance floor without any worries. There is also a loop sewn through the end of the train so you can easily loop your arm through to help carry the train around. As it is quite a heavy dress, the bustle uses 3 clips. My seamstress also altered the shoulder bows to a press stud so that I could remove them as I pleased. I am 165cm tall and wore 9cm heels which in hindsight were the tiniest bit too low; a 10.5cm heel would have been perfect for my height to dress ratio. Also, I am very small-busted which meant that the cups in the dress were technically too big for my bust size, but the dress sat flush against my skin all night with no gaping. There is however definitely room for boobs if you are bigger busted than me.

There are not enough words to describe how much I loved this dress. The 3D flowers and fine beading/crystal work is jaw-droppingly beautiful, and the tiny beads catch the light in the most magical way. If you want a dress that will give the "wow" moment and leave people speechless, then this is the dress for you.

It has now been professionally dry-cleaned and I am happy to provide receipt of this. This dress has multiple layers of tulle under the main skirting to give it the amazing line and sweeping effect; please note that when it was altered, the seamstress lightly stitched some layers together to help it lay correctly in photos, and there are some thread snags in that layer of tulle from general wear and tear during the night.
