About the Dress

Selling my beautiful wedding dress so it can bring joy to someone else rather than have it sit in a cupboard! The dress was hand-made for the wedding with several fittings to make sure every last detail was perfect. The lace was absolutely beautiful - and the dress was not too warm on a sunny August day - so would be perfect for a wedding at any time of the year. The corset did not slip once and you felt very secure throughout the day. It was the perfect dress and I would choose it again in a hearbeat.

This stunning Caroline Castigliano Madeira bridal gown is a fabulous, refined all-over lace creation. The gown features a classic Castigliano corset, low at the back, cinching in the waist and lifting the bust with 16 bones holding the circumference of the body. A cap sleeve shrug is moulded over the corset and continues into a standing collar and flows into a full lace skirt.

Alterations

The sleeves are capped slightly longer and and we had them made at a slight angle to give a nice shape to the arm rather than cut them off. We also had the lace scalloped slightly for a softer look.

The drop corset was made into a princess cut rather than straight across, again to give a more feminine, classic style.

The neckline was scalloped with the soft lace and raised only slightly to bring a softness to the edges of the dress without getting in the way of hair / make up.

We kept the pockets (which I LOVED on the day) and the satin band (with satin button at the back) to highlight the waist.
