The Dress

This gorgeous dress is from the Demetrios Couture Collection. It's an ivory Italian lace strapless A-line dress with a satin ivory pleated sash that is full length at back of dress. This dress was originally purchased in 2007 at the Demetrios store in Tampa and was only worn once. The dress was professionally cleaned and sealed in an acid free chamber within a week of the event and it was only recently opened in order to create this ad. It was taking up so much room in my closet and it seemed such a waste to leave it all boxed up and unused when it could bring someone else enjoyment on their special day.

The dress was altered once before it was worn. I am 5'5", but wore 3.5" heels and the front of the dress was just brushing the floor. I believe this dress would work for someone shorter or even a few inches taller. I wear a street size 2 (I can sometimes get away with a 0 in A line styles as my upper body is more petite and my hips are more curvy) and this dress fits about the same as a typical dress in those sizes.

Although this dress was professionally cleaned and stored since 2007, I noticed some discoloration on the very bottom off the front of the dress where the it brushed the ground during my garden wedding (shown in the sixth picture). This seems to only have affected this one spot as the bustle seemed to hold up the bottom sides and back of the dress perfectly. There is also a small strip of lace that has become separated near the side seam (left under arm area) that needs to be stitched or fixed upon future alteration (shown in a photo above). The lace and the rest of the dress look just as beautiful as it did the day I first tried it on.
