The Dress

Bodice is heavily beaded with lots of baguette, round and teardrop crystals and tiny glass seed beads (not sequins!) in a vintage style pattern over white lace. It has stiffening/boning but not hard, and has bra type cups sewn in. It also has an elastic bra strap sewn in that closes at the back inside the dress for added cup support. Skirt is ankle/low tea length layered tulle ( three layers of softest white tulle on top then on layer of soft peach tulle over dove grey satin, then another two layers of stiffer tulle under the satin, then a last layer of satin with a tulle frill at the very bottom.) This gives the dress such a magical sheen of silver and blush under the white tulle when it moves, I fell in love with it instantly. Has to be seen in real life to fully appreciate the subtlety. The dress has a very flattering shape and movement, stayed fluffy all day and night. Under both the bodice and skirt is a soft dove grey satin, giving the dress a silver/white look. This is picked up when the dress is moving, so you get the gorgeous gradient of white, grey and peach.( I ended up using this as my wedding colour scheme.) It has a zip at the back hidden by numerous crystal buttons to close. The bodice is firm with a v shape waist at the front.
Only worn to my wedding, which was in April. I was looking for something simple yet stunning, with a retro classic feel. Also not the traditional white. The gown was purchased from Gowns of Elegance at Chermside. It was purchased off the rack, the style is called Violina, but as a discontinued style I had to alter it instead of ordering my size. I am a size 8 top with a B cup size. Hips are more a 10, but as the dress has a flare after the waist, its really flattering and is a pretty free size. So if you have a small waist but larger hip like me this style is great. You could get the cup padding I had sewn in taken out if you needed more room in the bust. All adjustments were made by a professional seamstress recommended to me by the bridal store.

The dress was taken in, bra cups added, and the hem taken up to a tea length/ankle length. There are no stains on the dress. There are no missing crystals or beading. Thereis one nearly invisible pull on one layer of tulle net. I mean so small, like where one mesh square joins the next type of tiny. You can't see it unless you are carefully inspecting each layer of tulle up very close and seperately.
