The Dress

This sequin wedding gown is absolutely stunning, and even comfortable to wear. The sequin and stitching detail is so intricate. Modern v-neck design and detailing. Not too girly or frilly. Beautiful, unique floral embroidered areas on sides for length of gown. Sheer lace covered the open part on the back but I preferred it to be removed during alterations. Comes with a matching sequined belt (that I chose not to wear). Will also come with its original Karen Willis Holmes gown bag with extra sequins and care instructions.

I am 5'4" tall and a US size 2. I wore 3-inch heels. (Size 8, if you're interested!)

I bought this dress from Love & Lace Bridal Salon in Orange County, California, south of Los Angeles. They ordered it from Karen Willis Holmes, the Australian dressmaker.

I had my measurements taken, and then when the dress arrived, a few alterations made. I had the sheer back removed but retained the ornate detail surrounding the back of the dress, and used a little bit of dress tape on the day of my wedding to secure the floral details to my skin. Worked perfectly! I did not have cups sewn in - instead, wore a NuBra. However, I think this dress would look great with cups sewn in, too. I had a bustle added during alterations.

The dress was professionally cleaned here in Los Angeles two days after my wedding (March 2016), and has been hanging - folded so as not to stress the fabric - in my closet since. There is still a bit of dirt on the inside bottom of the dress (the lining that touched the floor) that could not come out during the professional cleaning, but it is not noticeable whatsoever, as it is totally on the interior lining. The bustle loops and buttons came apart during the professional cleaning, so would need to be re-done for your big day.
