The Dress

Never been worn; I called off the wedding shortly before it was going to take place :-/ This gown is truly beautiful and I felt like a princess trying it on. It would be great for a summer/outdoor/garden wedding, but would also have such a stunning presence in a church. The white is not a stark, harsh white, but it is bright and crisp. I think this dress is the perfect blend of elegant, modern, yet still timeless and classic. To me, it’s romantic without being cheesy.

V-Neck Gown with 3-Dimensional Rose Full Skirt.

**In the pictures I took of myself it looks as if there is a dark stain on the skirt: that is actually a knick in the mirror, the dress DOES NOT have any stains/snags/pulls whatsoever. The back is bustled in one picture, but it doesn’t have to be bustled at all, and there are other ways to bustle it, as well. The train could also be cut off if you don’t want to mess with a bustle for dancing etc. also, I am not wearing shoes in the pictures, so the bottom doesn’t lay quite as nicely as it would with the heels I had for the dress.***

Fabric is silk with a tulle overlay. The body of the dress has a slight sweetheart neckline, and the tulle straps create a V-neckline. The straps are a deep V in the back; it’s simple, elegant and my favorite part of the whole dress! Full A-Line skirt made up of roses. There are many layers of tulle underneath the skirt, and the front of the dress has a slight high-low design, so a bit of tulle shows at the bottom.

Alterations: I had the tulle straps shortened about 1/2" at the shoulders and had the bodice taken in slightly-the alterations were pretty minor. I am 5'10" so I didn't have it hemmed and would have worn it with ~2.5" heels. It can definitely be hemmed if needed, and the body of the dress is a pretty simple design, so alterations are easy. I wear a 34B bra size and was planning on having cups sewn into the inside of the dress to fill it out/smooth it out, so that can definitely be done as well. If you don't want the skirt as full as it is, there are many layers of tulle underneath, and some/all of them can be easily removed. If you are short, you might consider taking some of the underlying tulle out so the gown doesn't overpower you.
