The Dress

The dress is described as Ivory lace and tulle over a ivory fish tail gown with a Sparkling Topaz Sash. It is a zip up fastening with diamante buttons at the back. From the first time I tried it on, I loved it as it was so comfortable and the detailing is beautiful. It's very light and so easy to move in.

I wear a size 12 as standard (usually a 14 in a high-street dress) but I brought the dress in a 14 and had it taken in a little. The dress was taken up (I am 5 foot 7 and wore approx 2 inch heels) and also taken in around the top and to give additional support and shaping around the bust I added cups to the breast so no bra needed (I’m a 36D). The sash around the waist was originally longer and the original design has a bow at the back but I felt this obscured the buttons and so I had the sash removed (which is still in the wedding dress carrier) I added an ivory sash which was fixed to the dress. I also had two hoops added so I could bustle up the dress for the evening (there is a hand loop under the dress). All of these alterations cost me £150. And I am very happy with them.

I did not have the dress dry cleaned as I did not feel it needed to be as I got married in a hotel and the dress was very protected when having photos outside and the dress was packed straight into the box after the event, The buyer may want to do so themselves.

I found my dream dress and totally enjoyed wearing it, I felt beautiful from 12pm till 2am in the early hours it was so comfortable and easy to wear and so many lovely comments too.
