The Dress

If you are looking for a stunning, elevated, modern chic dress, this one is for you. Florence has a "redefined timeless" look. With the satin-look Mikado fabric and the dramatic full skirt, this dress is so classic and elegant. Yet, the iconic plunging neckline and sexy thigh-high slit make the dress so fun and modern. It was the perfect dress to flirt with my husband when we snuck away for photos, but still feel classy around my in-laws during the reception. Truly the best of both worlds. I have never felt so beautiful, classy, and elevated than when I was wearing this dress. It is bittersweet to part with it- I hope it brings this same confidence and joy to you on your wedding day. :)

The structured bodice is so flattering, especially from the side/profile, which is the angle most pictures will be taken from (during the ceremony, while you're looking into your partner's eyes, etc). The full skirt is a dream. I did not wear any shapewear and I felt so comfortable and able to move all day. It was also super quick/easy to go to the restroom, which is important when you're trying to enjoy every minute of the event! Also- I am confident in my appearance, but I was SO happy in the weeks leading up to the wedding that I did not have to worry about wearing a skin-tight dress. It really took the pressure off.

The dress has pockets, which are completely hidden by the pleats of the skirt. They inspired a moment of humor during our ceremony when I pulled a tissue out of the pocket to dab my eyes when my husband and I were happy-crying during our vows. Tell your officiant beforehand that jokes about pockets in women's dresses are crowd-pleasers! : )

This dress is a bridal size 6. My measurements in this listing were taken by the bridal salon on the day I purchased the dress. I normally wear a size 2-4 street size in USA clothing.

Alterations

This dress already has a bustle! It is a 1-point bustle. It took less than 3-minutes to bustle this dress on my wedding day. My friend bustled it in the middle of the cocktail area without having to go into a back room. (Make the most out of every minute of the event! Don't spend your entire cocktail hour bustling your dress!)

The only other alteration was a standard hem to shorten the length of the dress. The seamstress removed about 2 inches from the bottom. I am 5-feet, 8-inches without shoes and I wore 2.5-inch heels on my wedding day. So the dress is currently perfect for someone who is 5-foot, 10.5-inches while wearing shoes. If you are shorter than that, good news- this is the lowest-cost type of fabric to hem (no beading or lace).
