The Dress

This dress screams romance, and is perfect for a bride who feels most confident in clothes that hit at the natural waist. The layers are what make it so unique and romantic: the bottom liner is a very light weight ivory, followed by lace that adds some floral imagery, followed by the lightest silk tulle you’ve ever seen. The cold shoulder straps are removable- I kept them on for family photos and the ceremony, then off for friend photos and the reception; it was great to have both options. This felt so flattering and comfortable- the structured bodice drew the eye to my smallest part (natural waist) and is forgiving from the waist down. I didn’t need to wear spanx or worry about my dress looking tight on my wedding day. I could eat leading up to and at my wedding without worrying about my dress being tight or unflattering. I’m 5’3”, and the gentle angle of the A-line was proportionate to my body. Sometimes A-lines can look like ballgowns on short brides; this dress’s skirt falls so gently it’s almost a column, with the forgiving nature of an A line. The bustle broke a bit while dancing-this will likely need to be repaired (but is minor).

Alterations

This dress has been hemmed (I’m 5’3” and wore 2.25” heels). It felt a little long for me (and it was hemmed with those exact shoes on). It would be perfect for someone an inch or so taller. It also has a bustle- 1 on the bottom for the liner and lace, and 3 on the top silk tulle (see picture of me talking to the photographer for bustle).
Besides that, no alterations- the sample fit my body perfectly (just not my height)
