The Dress

This beautiful Mariana Harwick Callie Gown took my breath away from the moment I tried it on in the store to the day I wore it down the aisle at my destination dream wedding in Maui, Hawaii. Made of silk, with an ivory lace bodice which is created over subtle bone silk (bodice only) and ivory silk gown with ivory lace detail. The gown has a breath taking ivory lace panel down the back following from the button up back and continuing for the full length of the train - the lace detail really shines without being too over the top (in fact I swore I would not have any lace on my wedding dress, but this lace is subtle so that it acts more like stunning detail throughout the dress).

The dress was made to measure by the dress makers at Mariana Hardwick in Brunswick in Melbourne. For a point of difference and to make the dress to my own taste, I had the design altered for additional cost, to remove the lace panel down the front of the dress. Mariana Hardwick did an amazing job finishing off the detail where the lace on the bodice meets the ivory silk gown - it is like it was always meant to be designed this way! It was everything I dreamed of and more, and this alteration really helped the back of the dress to shine.

Looks great, with or without a veil or a hairpiece. The dress is so stunning, it really does not need much extra - it is the hero all on it's own - the way a wedding dress should be.

The dress has been certifiably dry cleaned by professional wedding dress dry cleaners - Sydndal's Bridal Dry Cleaners which is the dry cleaner of choice for many designer labels. The dress comes in a special dress preservation bag valued at $150 purchased from the dry cleaners and which the dress has been stored in since it was picked up from the dry cleaners.
