The Dress

Nalu means “wave” in Hawaiian - Bias cut satin slip dress with a draped off one-shoulder sleeve and cowl back. Collection V1 ‘Wave’ embodied the flow of waves - the natural essence of beauty. Effortless and balanced, yet sensual and uplifting. The liquid satin shows off fluid movement, soft drape and sensual glow, the design details and volumes that mimic the waves are gentle and calm but spectacular and dramatic at times. Washing off the excess, leaving the styles clean and balanced.

I loved this dress from the moment I tried it on and it was incredibly comfortable and and flattering on my wedding day. You really get goddess vibes with this dress and the way this dress is cut and lined makes it forgiving and flattering on your curves - I didn’t wear shape wear under it.

It has been professionally dry cleaned and has no stains. The only wear is along the hemline there is fraying. Front hemline is just along the inner and back will need to be cleaned up inner/outer where it has dragged(pictured). I have a picture to show it. The dry cleaner offered to fix it & with sharp scissors. However, I opted to leave it as is because anyone shorter than me purchases this dress (I’m 5’9) they would need have the dress hemmed by their tailor anyways and could have it cleaned up then.

Alterations made to the dress were minimal - just brought it in a little under the butt to give me a little bit more shape there - see last 2 pics of me in dress.

I am a size 6 normally, I went with the 8 because that was the size I tried on at the boutique and it draped really pretty down my back. Technically my measurements make me a street sized 4 on my wedding day if that helps with sizing.

Alterations

Tapered in under the butt a little more.
Professional tailor added skin sticky to the one shoulder so that it would stay up. It is invisible while on and helped it stay secure.
Bustle - Pearl button very minimal. Needs the bustle loop added in again. Picture of some slight pulling where the bustle attachment goes
