Clean Fit and Flare Wedding Dress with Straight Neckline

I absolutely fell in love with this timeless, classic dress! As you can see, I wore it with a bolero for my ceremony, then just on its own bustled for my reception. The photo in the bridal shop captured the moment when I said, "I feel like a goddess in this dress." It is SO flattering, and the mikado silk has a delicate shimmer to it -- I am NOT a sparkle girl, and this was just right for me! I also loved the thickness of it (no shapewear needed, but I did wear it and it didn't show at all) and the support and structure of the boned bodice -- I initially wasn't looking at strapless because I didn't believe I'd feel supported and this dress proved me wrong! I danced the night away and the dress wasn't going anywhere.

As I mention in the "alterations" details, it can be left at a bridal size 10 (measurements given) or taken out to a 12 or 14. Justin Alexander runs about one size smaller than many other bridal designers, so just keep that in mind. I am typically a street size 6-8. On my wedding day, I was about 135 lbs, 5' 5" (plus 3" heels), bra size 34D or 36C. The cups were just right for a C cup but could be easily swapped out in alterations for a different size.

The dress's only flaw is that it is missing a few buttons in the back which can be easily replaced. They are standard bridal buttons and any seamstress doing bridal alterations will have them. If you purchase this dress, you will also want your seamstress to make a three-point bustle. The fabric was just too heavy for one button (which was pretty funny at my reception when my buttons flew off a couple times. I ended up just putting the train hanger loop around my elbow, which worked great). The dress has been carefully cleaned and has been hanging in a garment bag since.

I'll be sad to see it go, but my husband and I are off to our next adventure -- we're expecting our first little one in November! So just know the profits from this sale will likely go to buying baby clothes and diapers. SO many diapers... :)

Alterations

I had this dress altered to about a size 10 in wedding dress sizes, but my seamstress specifically left all the fabric in so that it can be taken out to a size 12 again or even a size 14. This includes the hem -- you have at least four inches to work with there as well.
