The Dress

The Lorraine dress is really lovely and I was so happy with it on my wedding day. Beaded details on bodice and straps give the dress subtle shimmer, while the long flowy skirt and train make you feel glamorous (especially if you opt to pair it with a cathedral length veil :). I really like the soft v-back and fabric covered buttons. The dress hugs you right at the narrowest point of the waist—very flattering, especially on small framed/small busted brides.

Practical details: I wore this at my April 2023 wedding for the ceremony and it is overall in great shape. I purchased it as a size 8 at a small bridal boutique and the only alterations I had done (by a professional seamstress) were to shorten the hem by a few inches (I'm 5ft 3 without shoes--I wore 3 inch heels on my wedding day, and the dress still touched the ground) and to take in the straps slightly (I'm smaller busted). Otherwise everything fit great off the rack.

Condition (please read carefully): I changed into another dress for the reception, so the dress was never exposed to food or drink, nothing was spilled on it, and I wore it for a short period of time on a cool day, so I didn’t even have the chance to sweat in it. But I do want to be clear that the very bottom of the dress did not escape unscathed from the outdoor ceremony on a day with intermittent showers: there are a number of places where mud has noticeably speckled the bottom hem of the dress. The dirt marks are overall small and light--enough so that they don't show up in any of my wedding photos. They are, however, definitely visible to the naked eye. Most are like the one on the right hand side of the last photo--occupying only one to two inches above the hem. There are a few places (like what is shown in the left hand side of the last photo--my hand is visible through the fabric for size) where dirt has spattered a few inches higher. Due to the 4 photo constraint, not all dirt marks are pictured, but they are similar to the ones in the photo. Please reach out prior to purchasing if you have further questions or would like to request additional photos of the dress. I have not tried to clean the dress or remove the marks--I expect (but cannot guarantee) it would be fairly easy for a professional dry cleaner to do so. Alternatively, shorter ladies could just have a seamstress/tailor take up the hem slightly and cut away the dirt marks entirely.
