The Dress

Alena Leena describes this gown: "The Ranunculus gown is inspired by the flower that shares its name - almost too beautiful to be real. Ease and tradition are effortlessly combined to present this top-to-toe ivory Jacquard dress."

My favorite thing about this gown is its unique fabric. It's not French lace; it's soft around the edges of the ranunculus flowers. It was very comfortable and secure; I could forget myself and just enjoy the day. (The A-Line silhouette is also a forgiving choice for weight fluctuations in the final months after your last fitting. ;)

After my wedding I had the dress professionally cleaned by wedding dress specialists at Wedding Dress Preservation Company. I inspected their work without removing the dress from the plastic bag, so it can come to you untouched.

Alena Leena made this dress for me in 2020, but it was not worn until summer 2022 (our wedding was delayed twice due to South Africa - USA border closures caused by COVID).

Alterations

Alena Leena's original ranunculus was a Very Deep V neckline. I asked Alena to please reduce the depth of the V by overlapping the two panels (a bit of a wrap V neckline).
