The Dress
I bought this dress way back in 2002, dreaming that I would wear it to wed my college sweetheart. Boy was I wrong! Fella turned out to be gay. Well, the dress has spent the last 20 years carefully tucked away in a closet. A dear friend of mine wanted to bolster his wedding photography portfolio, hence the nice studio shots. Besides that, the dress has never been worn - it is a gorgeous relic waiting for you!
The dress is 4 pieces: skirt, bodice, a train/bustle piece, and a wrap. Because it has lived in a garment bag in a box you will need to press some wrinkles out of it. It is ivory, and the embroidery is lilac and silver.
I am 5'3" and the dress is too long for me, so either you will need to alter it or be at least ~5'5" (or wear heels!). I will include the headpiece (the purple and ivory one shown in the sitting photo) and the big fluffy petticoat that gives the dress a nice ballgown shape. I also bought a cathedral-length veil because I was a dumb teenager, you get that too!
It is a size 8 but it fits more like a 6. The bodice can be adjusted because it is corset style, but the dress part will fit only up to a 27' waist.
(I did eventually meet and marry the man of my dreams MUCH later, but by that time the dress no longer fit me or my style - turns out what you love at 18 is a lot different than what you love at 38!)
