The Dress

This Lanvin bustier draped gown was my dream wedding dress. I fell madly in love with it the first time I saw it and feel so lucky to have been able to wear it on my special day! I can’t stand the idea of preserving it in a box for decades in storage and would like for it to bring happiness to another bride.

The gown was purchased in a FR 38 which is the equivalent to a US 4-6. I am actually a FR 36 (equivalent to a US 2-4) and had the dress altered to fit my measurements. I am 5'7" and wore 4" platform heels so the gown was shortened slightly to fit the height of someone 5'11". When shortened, the seamstress maintained the original stitching of the hem. The gown has an internal support strap and bustier which were altered to fit my bust in an extremely discreet way; from the top seam as to not disrupt the beautiful draping. I also added a tiny loop beneath the back ruffles so that I could bustle the train after the ceremony. There is a satin loop on the train of the gown which I had tacked down but could be untacked and used to hold the train as well.

Preservation Method: This gown was professionally dry-cleaned and preserved by one of the best in NYC. The museum quality preservation method consists of having the dress wrapped in acid-free fibers and placed in an acid-free storage box.
