The Dress

When I went dress shopping with my mum and sisters, I never expected to find the perfect dress on the first day of looking – mum crying when I tried it on was a sure sign that I was wearing my future wedding dress.

I knew I wanted strapless and something that flattered my curves without being too figure hugging so opted for a lace up back over the zipper option. The lace up proved to be beneficial when I dropped some weight before the wedding day so it was simple for my bridesmaids to just tighten the laces at the back. There were minimal alterations needed – only to the area below the bum to bring the dress in where there was no lace.

The beaded embroidery all over the dress made it feel elegant without being too over the top. The train can be buttoned to the back of the dress, perfect for dancing later in the night. The dress also wasn’t heavy like others I had tried on.

The dress is in very good condition – no tears, stretching or stains – and has been dry cleaned. I still have the receipt for the dress and have included the hoop petticoat worn under the dress free of charge.
