The Dress

If you've ever Googled "timeless and elegant wedding gown," this post is for you.

This is a stunning fit and flare gown by English designer, Suzanne Neville, ordered with a custom elongated train. It features an Italian crepe skirt and a structured corset embellished with beautifully delicate 3D lace. (A sturdy corset does absolutely wonderful things for a woman's figure...the Victorians were onto something!)

This gown is both strong and soft at the same time. The slim silhouette and the skirt's simplicity speak to a kind of understated confidence. The delicate lace and off-the-shoulder neckline sweeten the look, communicating femininity and romance. I softened the look even further for the ceremony by pairing the gown with a cathedral veil. I felt like a modern Jackie O walking down the aisle. :)

The gown was professionally cleaned by Befitted Tailoring in Washington, DC. The Befitted team, rated 5 stars, has served DC brides for over thirty years. I know dry cleaning isn't a magic wand and this creates some anxiety for brides buying a pre-worn dress. Even the most discerning brides should fear not. I'm tall enough that any small imperfections can be hemmed away in the likely event you have it shortened. More importantly, I was very careful with the gown because I always knew I would sell it. Even the delicate lace is still like new.
