The Dress

In reference to my measurements, I wore this dress in 2020 pre-baby. At the time I was a true size 6 and a 34B. I hope that helps when thinking about the fit of the dress.

This was the only wedding dress I ever tried on. I worked in a bridal shop up until I was engaged so I saw hundreds of dresses daily. But when my boss pulled this out of the box the day it arrived, I knew I had found my wedding dress. My now husband and I weren’t even engaged yet. I called him, knowing engagement was on the horizon, and told him I found my wedding dress and put a deposit on it that day. This dress is unlike anything I’ve ever seen on a bride. It is dainty and delicate, and yet commands the attention of the room when you walk in. It it comfortable and casual due to the soft material and the pockets (!!) and yet it is completely elegant and makes you feel like Cinderella. I never would’ve guessed I’d wear a ball gown. I thought I’d be a floral and lace boho bride. But when I put on this dress, it felt more like A-line with a full skirt, and it changed my mind completely. Getting to wear this dress on my wedding day will forever be one of my greatest accomplishments in my life. This dress made me feel beautiful in a way I had never felt before.

There are some signs of wear, but the way this dress flows and looks in pictures they are almost impossible to see once on. The shop I worked for bought this dress used, so I knew it would never be “perfect.” But honestly knowing that allowed me to truly wear it without fear of ruining it. On the bodice, there are a few loose threads and some pulls in the fabric. All very minor. The hem of the skirt has some signs of wear, mostly just some loose threads. If you’re taking length off, this won’t be an issue at all.

This dress was better than anything I had dreamed of. When I think of my wedding day, second to my husband, this was the best decision I made. I hope it will be for you, as well.

Alterations

Added cups, added French bustle, bodice taken in a little to fit my torso better but there is material left for it to be let out.
