The Dress

This gorgeous ivory A-Line stunner of a gown has an ethereal princess-like quality to it. I actually had this dress custom-made from a small boutique in Philadelphia, PA. The base fabric is a high-quality ivory duchess satin material, which contains layers of chiffon and beaded lace on the exterior, making it a unique and beautiful piece.

Chiffon wraps the bodice, forming a cascading flow of fabric from the center of the waist, secured by a pretty gold brooch. Beaded lace drapes the exterior of the rest of the gown- andthe gossamer cap sleeves are also comprised of this lace material.

One thing I want to note about the lace is that it contains hand-sewn beading embellishments. I actually initially had the dressmaker remove some of the excess beading before landing on the final design.

This dress has some flexibility in the waist as it has a tie-up corset back which is ideal if you want a more structured/fitted waistline look. The lace cap sleeves give this dress a vintage and classy vibe. The sleeves are versatile enough to be worn for a religious ceremony, but also functionally a good choice as you dance the night away. However, If you wish to do away with them or swap them for a different type of strap or sleeve, I am confident this would be a simple modification to the gown that your tailor could accommodate.

Please note, this dress was worn once, then immediately was professionally dry-cleaned and preserved (I have the paperwork for this). It sat untouched in a temperature controlled environment (in my closet) ever since. It will most likely need to be steamed to get out any wrinkles. Also, there is some very very slight soiling on the hem line which is very faint, but I want to point this out regardless. I can send additional pictures if you are interested.

Included with the gown is the lace-trimmed veil (waltz/knee length)and white rhinestone headband with gold hardware.
