The Dress

Elegant silk wedding gown that I wore to my wedding in 2020.

I bought this gown from Lola Varma in 2019. This was an early version Augustine gown - at the time the Augustine gown only came with buttons down the front so I asked Lola Varma (Courtney) to customise the gown for me, so she swapped out the bottom for the Delfina skirt. I can see now that Lola Varma has adjusted the Augustine design so that it looks exactly like what I custom ordered a few years ago! The top of the gown has a blousing effect over the waistband, which I thought was very flattering. I also asked Courtney to remove one button from the back (from 3 to 2) so the back is as low as possible.

The gown was originally made as size 8 for the bottom and size 7 for the top. I had the top altered by a tailor as it was a little too big, so I think the top part of the gown is closer to a size 6 now. The bottom part was never altered so is original size 8. The gown was made in a tall length - waist to floor: 118cm. I am 172cm tall and wore 9cm heels.

I also had the tailor put in a bustle which was super helpful for the reception!

Worn once on my wedding day. I had it professionally dry cleaned a few days later and has been safely stored in the garment bag ever since. It is such a beautiful gown made from gorgeous French silk - I felt so happy and comfortable in it.

I’m also selling the Aletta Veil for $200 - fabric matches the dress perfectly. I loved the subtle detail of the spots, given the dress is so simple. It is a single piece of tulle with a comb at the very beginning. Veil is 1.8m in length.
