The Dress

I would love another bride to enjoy my much loved Iconic Sassi Holford Iris wedding dress!

I purchased this size 12 sample from a Sassi Holford Stockist in July 2022 and had some very minor alterations done by an experienced seamstress there who herself had worked with Sassi Holford previously. I had the waistband taken out very slightly, bust cups sewed in and the hemline taken up at the front, keeping a full train at the back. It’s worth keeping in mind that bridal sizes tend to come up small so the dress in reality was somewhere between a UK 10 and UK 12 hence why I needed the waistband taken out just slightly. I wore 7cm heels on the day, and I am 5ft 7 inches tall. I tend to wear a UK high street size 12, bra size 34C.

The dress has been worn once and professionally dry cleaned leaving only a very minor discoloration to the silk lining layer at the bottom of the train at the back that the dry cleaners were not able to remove due to risk of damaging the material. (Please see photos-where you can see the area in question lining only, then the photo below shows the same area with the floral fabric overlying it). If you were to have the dress altered then removal of this bottom few cm or so of the train would solve the issue! The dress comes with the fabric carrier that the bridal shop provided me with and it has been stored in this protective carrier since being cleaned immediately after the wedding.

I found the dress to be incredibly comfortable and light on the day, and loved being able to bustle it up for the evening, which was really easy to do. I had so many compliments, with many people expressing that it was the most unique wedding dress they had ever seen! It was perfect for my October 22 wedding but would look great at any time of year.
