The Dress

Hi!

My lovely wedding dress was dry cleaned and “Preserved for Life” (a special treatment offered) in a big white box and has lived in our bedroom for a few years now. I love this dress so much; I just didn't want to part with it. However, I recently sold my wedding shoes, because, I told myself: "I would just never wear them again," and it got me thinking about my dress. Truthfully, I will not wear it again and, I think, it deserves the chance to make someone else very happy and to star in many MANY gorgeous photos. So, I went to the designer's website and bought a signed sketch of the dress, which I framed and now have in my room! Ha! I think this shows how I feel about this beautiful gown. Of course, I'm very serious about selling now, but I really don't want to “abuse” this dress and ask you to please only reach out if you're absolutely serious about making it yours.

This pretty little dress is called "Dare" by Hayley Paige, and I knew it would be my dress as soon as I saw it. It's incredibly pretty and impossible to ignore. Initially, I wanted a simple boho dress, as comfort was top priority, but I couldn't resist trying on this gorgeous gown. "Dare" just worked. The skirt is flowy and long, but the dress doesn't feel big, likely resulting from the many soft and bouncy layers, which guarantee delicate coverage and natural but constant movement. The dress also made my waist look smaller and my chest just right—always a plus. While it's a V-neck, the cut truly isn't revealing, and, I think, it photographs very well.

I wore this dress during our ceremony and for our wedding pictures. I did change out of it for the party, because I wanted to "trash" the party dress and couldn't do it to this gown. As such, even though it was dry cleaned, it never got stained or dirty, just admired very very much. Lastly, I should add the dress has very good vibes. Our wedding was lovely, all guests had a blast, we’re happily married, AND, we got married in 2020 BUT before COVID and before COVID was a concerned in anyone’s mind. I call it “my lucky dress.”

I do believe it runs small. Honestly, it's always easier to take it in, so, personally, I would buy a size slightly larger. I think the dress is closer to a US 2-4 (but more of a 2).
