The Dress

Pronovias Ribelia gown in size US8 (check the Pronovias sizing chart: https://www.pronovias.com/template-size-pronovias). This dress would fit anyone from a size US2-6, the most crucial measurement to determine suitability is the waist measurement.

Originally bought from Rituals of Love in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Worn on a sunny day in September 2022. I changed into a different dress later in the evening.

The dress is pure silk satin with a heavy silk satin lining and falls beautifully. The minimalist, bias cut accentuates the waist, hip and bust areas in a classic silhouette (very similar to Carolyn Bessette’s wedding gown). The cowl drape over the bust can be worn different ways, spending on style. The wider straps are very comfortable. The back is low to the waist and quite open, but high enough that there is support and shapewear can be worn underneath.

• Professionally dry cleaned by Laura's Fine Dry Cleaning in Langley, BC who specialize in in-house wedding dress cleaning. The dress is SPOTLESS and in like new condition with no stains or damage.

Alterations

• Added a loop to the train for an over bustle. The train lifts to attach to a button on the lower back (adjustable according to height wanted)(see photos).
• Altered the back cowl piece so that it sits lower on the back, and added snaps so it can be removed for two different looks.
• Slightly shortened straps and used excess fabric to create thicker straps on the backside for extra support and to create a more flattering look against the back (the original thin straps dig in).
• Hemmed the dress for 5 ft. 5 height plus 2-inch heels on, and shortened the train by 12 inches (it was incredibly long, so this made it easier to move and to bustle the train).

• Minor bust adjustment (taken in so that cowl wasn’t so loose) and hip area slightly let out - both adjustments could be altered back to original if needed.
