The Dress

Blue Willow by Anne Barge "Daydreamer" purchased in 2022. Color is "silk white," which is somewhere between white and ivory. Label size 8, street size 4/6.

This dress was an absolute dream to wear. Super flattering seams and shape, with cummerbund, and buttons all down the back (for show only). The fabric is really light, so it's easy to move around in, unlike many dresses I tried. The fabric looks clean and classic from far away, but has a subtle embossed floral pattern, so it feels classic with a twist. Truly gorgeous.

Alterations include hem (I am 5'2" and wore 3" heels), bustle, closed up the deep V slightly (was way too deep), added cups, and slimmed the straps slightly. We removed some of the body from the skirt, so that the result was more of a full A-line, and less of a ballgown. I also had the interior lined with 100% silk, because I'm extra like that - this was a total power move as it made the dress luxuriously comfortable! All in all, we did about $950 of customization/alterations, to make tasteful upgrades to a gown that was beautiful off the rack.
