The Dress

Caroline Castigliano, Aruba, Size 8

A beautiful silk ivory wedding dress made with Chantilly lace overlay. It is light to wear and very comfortable (despite being corseted!) and easy to move in. It has an integral tulle layered skirt underneath so that the skirt itself is lifted up away from your calves. It's really easy to dance in as it bustles up neatly with one hook. It is beautiful to wear and photographs well.

Sweetheart neckline, with delicate lace detail edging and a fitted and fully corseted bodice. A champagne silk ribbon ties under the bust and can be fastened together with a brooch (brooch has been kept for sentimental reasons). It is a fitted dress with an empire waistline that leads into the skirt with a small puddle train and has buttons running down the back of the dress. It has been fitted to a large size 6 - small size 8. As the corset laces up and can be adjusted this dress can fit a size 6-10. I have added beaded appliques to the bust and a decorative beaded champagne halter neck strap. Both are easily removable by a seamstress as they are attached by only a few stitches. The dress stays up because of the corset, I didn't have to pull the dress up once when wearing it.

Measurements - Height - 5ft 4 with 3 inch heel shoes. My measurements - bust 31" (78cm), underbust 27" (70cm); waist 25" (64cm) and hips 35" (89cm)

The dress has been specially dry-cleaned and is in very good condition.
Fully packaged up in a Caroline Castigliano box and has been well kept in a smoke and pet free home.

This is a high quality, simple and classic dress. Because of the lace overlay it has a vintage feel to it. It's very classy and elegant. It would be great for someone else to be able to enjoy their special day wearing it too.

The dress was originally bought brand new for £3,150 from the Berners Street store in London. The asking price is for £900 ono. Courier is at the cost of the buyer.

NB: This dress has been twice-owned and worn, although there are no visible signs of wear. I bought the dress second-hand in August 2015 for my own wedding which was in February 2016.
