The Dress

My dream dress! I was so stressed for 2 weeks before my wedding but the 1 thing I didn’t have to worry about was how stunning this dress would look. The floral appliqués were such a lovely nod to our botanical venue. The champagne silk is so smooth to slip into and a dream to glide down the aisle in.

Alterations

This gown typically has a plunging neckline as shown in the designer’s photos, but I had it closed into a v-neck. The stitches can be removed without damaging the fabric to restore it to a plunging neckline.

I received this gown at sample length, and instead of cutting and hemming it to my height, I had it ballroom-bustled, so all of the fabric was just tucked underneath and held up with strings (I am 5’7” and wore 4” heels). However, I took out the bustling prior to getting the dress cleaned, so it is currently back at sample length and does not have any strings for bustling (when I measured, I would have to be 6’2” for the dress to just brush the floor).

A month after the wedding (and after a lot of research) the dress was cleaned at Elegance Preserved, and no defects or damages were found.
