The Dress

Two in one! This is such a classic and versatile dress and that's one of the reasons I fell in love with it. The Scarlet is from the 2020 collection, but I am the first bride to have worn it and my wedding was this year (2022). When I tried it on in the store it was effortlessly timeless. I opted for the bandeau during our ceremony and then removed it for our reception for a bit of a change between events without changing my entire outfit. It stayed in place without needing to be tailored to the dress. There are quite a few ways this can be worn/attached, and then you have the option of removing it for a different look at your reception. The front design of the dress is straight across the bust, and the back is high enough you could opt to wear a bra. The crepe material is beautiful, and the dress is fully lined. There is some stretch to it so moving, sitting, etc. are not a problem compared to some of the other materials I had tried on.

I did not have the length altered as I was around 6'1" in my heels. I did have a ballroom bustle added. Pictures should reflect the train and the bustle look. The eyelet hooks underneath are color-coordinated by their string, which made mating them between the wedding and reception a breeze. They could also be removed without any issue if a different bustle style is preferred.

I'm 5'10" with a 29" waist, and when it comes to everyday clothing, I wear a 28 in JCrew jeans and a 6 in their dresses and slacks. I am a 34DD and wanted the dress to cascade more than cling, so I went with the larger size and had the sides (at the underarm) taken to my bust size and the darts along the backside adjusted to allow the dress to lay correctly.

I also have my veil and belt with the dress. The belt consists of moonstones and pearls (it's gorgeous). I had the belt removed so the dress could be properly dry-cleaned, but it can be stitched on again. The veil is a cathedral-length two-tier with horsehair edging (around 13ft long) with a metal comb. The color matched the dress perfectly.

The dress has been dry-cleaned and is free from stains, snags, etc.

Alterations

- Under the arms was taken to my bust size of 34DD and the darts along your backside adjusted. The darts along your rear didn't lay right when I bought my dress, so I had them smoothed out.
- A color-coordinated eyelet hook set ballroom bustle was added.
- A belt was added but removed for cleaning. It will be included in the sale.
