The Dress

This Carol Hannah semi-custom gown has a square neckline and fit-and-flare/trumpet skirt crafted from the designer's silk/cotton mikado fabric. I purchased it from the Carol Hannah flagship in New York. The dress has never been worn, as I ended up going in a more casual direction for my wedding day.

I normally wear a size 0 or 2, 32B/34A, am 5'4" and had this dress fitted to accommodate 2.2" heels. The dress has a ballroom bustle, allowing the train to be brought into the inside of the dress so the gown looks like it is floor-length, with no visible external bustle.

Some of the photos are from the fittings, when the hem wasn't fully finished, and the other photos (inside an apartment) are of the final dress. Also pictured is the original garment bag/packaging, which is still how the dress is being stored at home with the cardboard bust to maintain shape.

Alterations

The dress was made to my measurements at the Carol Hannah flagship and custom fitted through a process that involved a couple fittings. It was not altered in the traditional sense, however.
