I am size 10/12, purchased a size 14 and paid £300 for this to be altered. Have receipts etc. Dress was only worn for a few hours during the day as had an evening dress I changed into.
This is a very forgiving dress that hides all lumps and bumps.

I’m
5ft 8 - so dress length accommodates this with some additional length. It’s been nipped in at the waist to accommodate my size 10-12 figure.
