The Dress

This is a gorgeous wedding dress that I wore in September of 2021. It is authentic Monique Lhuillier but I had the top completely remade in a custom lace turtleneck (as pictured). The original top half of the dress was a thinner and less intricate lace and was backless with a v-neck in front-- I was going for a more modest/Victorian look and was very happy with the result. I recently had it dry cleaned and had nearly all the tears from the evening of the wedding repaired... Exceptions noted below. Most were by the waistband so they were easily fixed and now you can't tell they were ever there... The dress requires the bride to wear a bodice underneath, and I have one in a 34B which I can include that has the french lace from the dress on top of it to blend. You can also use your own-- I will supply all the extra yardage of french lace I have leftover to add wherever you see fit, as well as the bow belt I wore with the dress. On the top of the dress there are also two small tears, one on the chest and one in the underarm (that one is more medium sized). Both can easily be fixed by appliqueing on some french lace detail by hand-- This can be done by even a novice sewer, or can easily be done by any tailor. There is one final tear I noticed, on the back by some of the buttons on the train. The top has some give due to the lace fabric, but the waist less so. The gown has tremendous volume on the bottom while being very fitted on top, which is a very flattering look for me and any other big bottomed girls with smaller waists and chests.
