The Dress

This dress is part of the Monique Lhuillier Bliss Bridal collection, UK size 4 (XS). It has a ballgown fit with a corset-like, fitted sweetheart neckline top and a full skirt with a long train. There dress is layered, a mix of organza and voile with a gorgeous embroidered and matte sequined top overlay, which can be seen in the photos. This top layer was my favourite part of the dress because the sequins are matte and understated, however, when the sunlight hits them there is a slight glimmer, which is really striking when you see the dress in-person.

The dress has been professionally cleaned and is in excellent condition. It was worn for a total of 5 hours from ceremony to after dinner. It was not worn for dancing, as I opted to change into a shorter dress. When the dress originally arrived, it was quite long, so I had it shortened to ensure that I would not step on it or trip over it when walking. In reality, I think it still has plenty of room to be taken up as I still found it a bit long. For reference I am 5 ft 6 inches and I was wearing 3-inch heals. The bottom part of the dress could use a bit of touching-up to even out the hemline as it did drag on the floor when I had the bustle down for photos.

Alterations

The length of the dress was taken in to ensure it was still floor length when wearing 3 inch heals. An additional boning piece was added to the corset top to ensure it di not bunch up or wrinkle when I was sitting. Bustle loops have also been added to the seams of the dress, which attach to the buttons on the lower back.
