The Dress

I wish I could keep this dress forever but it would be wasted up in my loft because someone else should have the chance to wear this absolutely stunning dress. I always wanted a classic, classy wedding dress whilst retaining a sense of modernism and fun and this dress suited it down to a tee. It’s simple and elegant with a low neckline and smooth fit at the front whilst at the back it has a low back of beaded straps with buttons leading from the top all the way down to the gorgeous, large lace, glistening train. It is in my eyes the epitome of having the best of both worlds - the classic gorgeous simplistic front which shows off any slender figure whilst having the beauty of the large floral lace trailing behind. In the sun (which we were very lucky to have on our wedding day) the beaded straps glisten along with the subtle glistening effect of the lace train (see video). The stretch crepe fabric which makes this sheath dress so fitted and smooth is incredibly comfortable which is a massive bonus on your wedding day to be able to move, dance and breath!

I know every bride says that they felt like a model on their wedding day but I cannot explain how amazing I felt in this dress. Just filming it for this page I wanted to put it back on and relive it all again.

I have had the dress dry cleaned and it is in excellent condition in terms of any marks or wear and tear. The only defect is the top button on the back where the elastic button loop has broken - an easy fix for any seamstress.

Please note I had a documentary style photographer therefore not many close up shots of my dress. I would therefore recommend watching my video where I try to capture every detail including the broken button. The end of the video shows the train where as you can see it is exceptionally clean due to dry cleaning. You can also look on Essence of Australia website with the dress code for more photos. This dress was ordered in June 2021 and worn in May 2022. Worn once as I am the first buyer.

I hope you love this dress as much I do. It was simply the dress of my dreams.

Alterations

Length - dress has been slightly taken up to allow for my shoes to poke out slightly when walking. I am 5ft8.5 therefore this dress is long anyway for most.
Bust - the bust has been taken in significantly. I am a 36C and dress size 10 therefore the bust on this size 14 dress was too big. The seamstress shortened the beaded straps slightly to allow for the bust to be pulled up tighter to my neck. She then pulled the nude V neck tulle fabric tighter (taking about half away) to allow for the bust to be pulled in. With the excess fabric on the ivory crepe cup area, she cut it away and restitched to ensure a closer fit.
Train - an extra loop as been added inside to allow for me to hold the train over my wrist. The original dress just had a string which was painful. The seamstress sewed in elastic loop.
