This is a beautiful dress! I felt incredibly beautiful on my wedding day. The dress fit me so well. For reference: I am 48 year old, 5' 8" tall, 150 pounds, curvy/athletic body shape. My normal size is Large (for clothes), jeans size 29-30, bra size 36DD.
The dress almost did not need any alterations... I just had it taken in the straps on top of the shoulder - to give a "better hold on breasts". It was taken in a little on the hips (as I am narrower in my hips then my breast).
This dress has been professionally clean by Elegance Preserved. They are well known in the Bay Area with great reviews. Their assessment was the dress is in great condition - no repairs were needed.

Alterations
The dress straps were taken in about 1/2 inch on top of shoulders and taken in about an inch on hips. It was minimally altered. It was not shortened.
