The Dress

This dress was absolute magic! It is timeless, yet modern. Bo-ho and also Art Deco. The details! That scalloped edge! I got so so many compliments. And more importantly I felt like a carefree queen.

The Forte by Vow'd is a very forgiving dress, easy to wear, and I didn't feel like I had to maintain a certain posture to wear her. I added a bustle which made her even more fun!

Plus, the sleeves are removable! Which was extra fun on the dance floor! Unsnap those babies for a totally different look at the reception :)

With a few small alterations (described below), she fit like a dream. I have already dry cleaned the Forte dress, and she's ready to ship. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Also, about the price, I tried on dresses two and three times the price, but I was happiest in the Forte. She was an easy choice.

Alterations

The alterations were minor. I had some darts put in the rump to hug the curves even more. Some extra fabric was taken up at the shoulders to remove any gaping of the back of the dress and the bust. The cups were lowers to fit better. The cups sewn in by Vow'd were weirdly high. The liners/ slip underneath was shortened about an inch for my height (5'6"). Originally the liners were longer than the dress itself. The length of the actual dress was not altered. I also had a 3-point American bustle put in (there's a blurry photo that captures the bustle). The alterations cost ~$500 total and were a great improvement to the dress from the factory
