The Dress

BRAND NEW Sarah Seven Viv gown. Viv has a fitted V bodice, layered skirt, and train that can be easily bustled, as shown in the pictures. It's made from a super comfortable crepe fabric. This is a beautiful dress, but I decided to wear a different silhouette. The dress has only been worn during alterations and to take pictures for this posting!

I ordered this dress in February 2022 in a Sarah Seven Size 4. When it arrived in May 2022, it needed to be taken in a bit in the bust and hip and shortened. At the time I had the dress altered, my measurements were: 32 bust, 26.5 waist, and 37 hip. In addition, I had the bottom layer of the skirt shortened/ hemmed. I am 5'4" and had it shortened to wear with 2.75 inch heels, which is what I'm wearing in the pictures. The top layer of the skirt was not shortened/hemmed but could be easily. I also had a bustle added. The bustle is hidden under the top tier of the layered skirt, so you don't even see it! (The train is bustled in picture 3 and unbustled in picture 4.) Last, I had my seamstress sew some netting fabric onto the underside of the hem of the bottom layer of the skirt to add a touch more structure. Truthfully, I couldn't tell the difference

Alterations

Altered to fit these measurements:
Chest: 32
Waist: 26.5
Hip: 37

Bottom layer of skirt hemmed: I am 5'4" and was planning to wear 2.75” heels.

Bustle added. Bustle is hidden under the top layer of the skirt.

Horsehair fabric (netting fabric) added to underside of hem of skirt. Fabric is sewn to the inside of the hem, so it is completely unnoticeable, unless you flip the skirt up.
