The Dress

This wedding dress is absolutely stunning! It is a very romantic style mermaid gown with a very long train of tulle that looks like you are walking on a bed of clouds! But don’t worry it bustles up to make it easy to move in after the ceremony. The photos don’t do justice to this dress and how much it sparkles! It was so comfortable and supportive and I truly had the best time in this dress!
This dress was made at Peretti bridal. It is based on the Rachelle gown but with some changes from the original to make it unique. Main features of the dress include:
* White in colour
* Mermaid fit (fitted to just below the butt)
* French lace bodice with hand sewn swarovski crystals
* English tulle skirt with long train
* Strapless with a sweatheart neckline
* Scalloping edge around the neckline
* The back has a hidden zipper and then is finished with buttons
* In-built padding so you dont need to wear a bra

A few things I changed from the original dress are the type of lace used, having a button up back instead of lace up back, a lower cut back and extra swarovski crystal beading.

No expense was spared when choosing the materials which attributes to it being so light! The under skirt of the dress is made from silk NOT satin which is much lighter.

The bodice is covered in a white French lace that has clear beads which sparkle. As if that’s not enough, hand sewn to the french lace are hundreds of Swarovski Crystals (both small and large crystals) that are clear in colour so all you notice is them sparkling rather than the beads themselves. The bodice pulls in really well to give a good shape.

The skirt is made of English tulle which is a very fine and soft type of tulle that is flowy rather than stiff. The long train can bustle up twice to achieve a total of 3 different lengths – the full length, a medium length and then a short length. All the tulle on the skirt is stitched to a single piece of silk material which makes it so easy to lay out the train (your bridesmaids will thank you for it).

The back of the dress is as stunning as the front! The lace is used to make a scalloped edge which looks very elegant. The buttons used were specially made from metal not plastic (so they are much stronger and won’t break) and were covered with the same lace as used on the dress so they just blend in to the bodice.

Although a fitted dress, I had it designed to still be practical. It is not too tight around the butt so you can still sit, dance and most importantly pull it up to go to the toilet!

Any damage done to the dress on my wedding day (some of the tulle on the skirt was torn) I had completely repaired by the dress maker after the wedding.

This dress can fit a variety of sizes by moving the buttons and would also fit a bustier girl as cups have been added which can be removed.
