The Dress

I ordered this dress from a local shop in October of 2021. After waiting nearly 3 months for the dress to arrive, it came in the wrong size. The shop refused to return or exchange for a different size because the time frame to do so had passed, but they failed to notify me that my dress arrived until a month later. When first trying on the dress in October, I tried on a size 8 which fit like a glove but was just a smidge too tight for my hips. They explained to me they would order a size or two up so that my seamstress could alter it to a perfect fit. After consulting with my seamstress, she informed me that altering this dress at a size 16 to fit me would take off nearly all the lace and details in the waist/hip area. This dress has never been worn, has only came out of the protection bag twice (once to look at when I picked it up & another when my seamstress looked at it), and is in perfect condition with tags still on. Despite the complications dealt with, the dress is without a doubt impeccably beautiful and has the potential to be someone else’s dream dress!
