The Dress
I chose the Jenny Yoo Langdon gown from BHLDN within an hour of my first dress appointment, because I loved how it looked from every angle: from the front, it's elegant and unique, with just enough detail in the embroidery around the torso to stay interesting; from the back and sides, the lace is just stunning.
The Langdon was very comfortable to wear for a full day of events and plenty of dancing. I appreciated that the fabric was forgiving enough to appear flattering even after a full meal. The decorative buttons on the back add a classic touch and conceal a short zipper which is easy to zip up/down on your own.
The gauzy streamers are attached at the shoulders and can serve as a modern substitute for a veil - these actually turned out to be one of my favorite parts of the dress because they added 'dramatic effect' to our photos. The shoulder streamers can also be removed easily after the ceremony to avoid getting tangled during the first dance!
Alterations
My tailor added a nude, B-cup bra insert to the chest area, but you could also have this removed professionally. I also had the dress hemmed - I'm 5"3' and wore 2" heels. Lastly, we added a bustle such that the train can be buttoned in 3 locations by any friend/family member without much hassle.
