The Dress

Absolutely the most divine dress, it made me feel truly beautiful and regal on my wedding day! Worn in January 2022.

This was the first dress I tried on in the first bridal shop I visited. It's so elegant, and what I loved about it is how classic yet modern it is. I knew then and there it had to be my wedding dress! Now I hope that I can give another bride that same feeling while wearing this dress on her special day.

Description:
Dress is made from pure Mikado Silk, with a fitted bodice featuring carefully draped fabric and a modern one-shouldered sleeve design - it's incredibly flattering on the body. The top of the dress has hidden support inside which means it's so comfortable to wear and feels nice and secure. It has a full skirt and long train, truly a statement and looks STUNNING while walking and in photos (especially coming down the aisle or cascading down stairs!). Down the entire back of the dress and train is a line of satin-covered buttons. Best of all, it comes with hidden pockets! I received endless compliments on this dress both from my wedding guests, and also afterwards from friends and colleagues looking at our wedding photos.

The dress has been professionally dry cleaned. It was worn on a dry and sunny day for only 3 hours (I had a 2nd dress which I changed into for the reception). Both ceremony and reception were indoors. There are a few extremely minor marks in part of the inside hem of the train, which are not visible at all when wearing.

Alterations

Dress purchased as an Australian size 10. It was professionally altered to be smaller at the bust and waist. I usually wear an Australian size 8 for tops/shirts. The hips and skirt of the dress were not altered at all, except to shorten the hem.

Alterations:
- Bra cups inserted (C cup)
- Bust smaller (dress measurements 36cm across)
- Waist smaller (dress measurements 34cm across)
- Skirt length shortened (111cm to floor)
- Bustle added
