The Dress

I bought this dress due to it’s modern take on a vintage flapper dress and appreciated the elegant but simple silhouette with stunning detailing. I have yet to see another designer put out a similar dress within a collection – so it felt very unique while classic. It was originally intended for a wedding my husband and I needed to cancel due to COVID, so it has not been worn or altered, and my body has since changed sizes (hence no pictures of myself modelling).

Catherine Deane’s shop calls the fabric “oyster” and is very close to an ivory colour. The beads themselves are closer to white tones. The designer has included additional strap length for easy adjustments as needed, and extra beads are attached with the tag. The dress fabric allows for a minor stretch, and the intricate scalloped beadwork covers the entire dress, with each layer scalloped to hang off the dress and allow for smooth draping over the body.

There are very minor string ends around as a result of the manufacturing that can either easily be trimmed, if noticeable at all. The overall construction is sturdy.
