The Dress

I paid $12,500 for this dress - purchased it from Vera Wang in Sydney in 2016.

The Vera Wang Ethel dress is made using two types of fabric - stretch silk mikado fabric (bodice) and hand-cut swirling tissue organza flange (skirt). The overall effect is a perfect fit to contour your body, creating a stunning romantic silhouette, while being modern and sophisticated.

It is a couture wedding gown identified by its clean and structured silhouette and layers of folded, skilfully arrang3ed organza fabric. Ethel flirts more with couture than other dresses in Vera's Classics Collection by showcasing a mystery of cutting and folding. Each swirling tissue organza flange of the skirt is hand-cut.

The look is high fashion, yet incredibly romantic despite the lack of beading, lace or petticoats.

Additionally Ethel is made of a new fabric of stretch mikado, allowing innovation in form. This also always a little give in the shape, making it extremely flattering, and allows the dress to be altered for a number of shapes and sizes. This dress is extremely versatile for any mood or occasion.

This dress was so comfortable to wear and photographed exceptionally well. It really was quite the statement
