The Dress

What an incredible gown!

It is a completely unique 'amethyst' colour which seemed to change depending on the light. It is an irridescent silk chiffon haute couture Suzanne Harward gown encrusted with pearl and silver embellishments. The gown also has intricate hand weaving through the front bodice continuing in to the jewel encrusted straps with a dramatic low back and covered buttons. A matching embellished hairpiece completed the haute couture styling.

I feel so lucky to have been married in this dress! It had a vintage feel, it fit like a glove and still felt comfortable even after a very long day. Everyone appreciated the craftsmanship in this dress, from the detailed embellishments, to the skilful handling of the layers and layers of chiffon in the skirt. The dress is boned/corsetted and features inbuilt bra cups. It can be held up with a finger loop however the length was so perfect that I didn't actually do that on the day.

I am an Australian size 6-8 and 177cm tall, however I wore fairly flat shoes so this dress is perfect for shorter girls or girls my height.

I am giving away the matching chiffon veil as it was made for this gown. I'd never seen a veil like this before as it was like liquid silk when it caught the slightest breath of wind - which made for some incredible photos. I'm happy to discuss the sale of the matching hairpiece also.

It has been cleaned and retouched by extremely experienced (and expensive!) cleaners/seamstresses so although the gown is listed as 'used' it is actually in excellent condition.
