The Dress

This is a 'Beauty' wedding dress made by Caroline Castigliano. I bought it from a second hand wedding dress shop in Mayfair London for £2500 I wore it once in August 2012 along with a chiffon bolero made by a tailor in Wiltshire.

The lovely full skirt of the dress is made of silk organza, with layers of silk and tulle which looks wonderful as you walk and dance. I had one layer of under netting removed and it flows beautifully. I had a little hoop added to the longer train section of the skirt so that I could attach it to one of the silk covered buttons on the back of the bodice. It felt and looked brilliant when dancing and I preferred it to having a loop over one hand. The bodice part of the dress is made of Italian lace and silk organza with a hidden boned corset to give a tiny waist. I have the black satin ribbon that comes along with the dress, a simple and effective touch, but any colour sash or ribbon could be worn.

The bodice buttons are covered in silk organza, the same material as the skirt.
The dress was altered to approx size 8/10 and 5ft 8 tall. I wore flat shoes. It would fit a 34D bust but is easy to alter.

I had a silk bolero made by a tailor in Wiltshire, done up at the back with pretty covered buttons and three quarter length sleeves is also included.

The dress has been dry cleaned and is hanging upstairs waiting to be tried on by its new owner!

The asking price is £1000 but I am open to offers.
