The Dress
This dress is an ivory A line floating organza dress that was made by Melbourne based designer Claire by Design. I fell in love with this dress online and found a couture house that was kind enough to order it in for me and do all the necessary alterations. This dress did not need to be hemmed as with my heels it was the perfect height for me to carry it off. It does have a bustle added in the way of 6 ties that tie together to hold the weight of the train, as press studs wouldn't have been strong enough. I also did have bust cups added as I am of small bust and I then did not have to worry about wearing a bra on the day, it held me in perfectly.
Although it says this dress is a size 4 on the rack, I can assure you I am NOT that size, I am a healthy size 10 as you can see from the photos, and this dress is also a corset back so it has room to give if you need it. This dress was so comfortable to wear throughout the day, and was quite easy to walk in. I also had a couture sash added to the waistline, as I am a bling girl and wanted to add this aspect. It has been hand sewn onto the dress but can be easily unpicked if you did not want it. At nearly $300 it is quite stunning, and could also be added to any other formal dress if you like.
The dress has no marks on the upper body, and very few marks on the wry bottom as it has a protectant underneath the bottom layer, which is quite good considering I had some photos on a beach. I had the dress cleaned whilst I was away, and it has been hung and stored in a breathable fabric garment bag ever since. It's in fantastic condition, and although I am sad to see my dream dress go, I would love for her to be worn again by another bride on her special day. I looked everywhere for a dress that to me, was a bit different from all the others I had previously tried, and I totally found her. So many guests on the day commented on how they hadn't seen a dress quite like her before. The photos do not do her justice as the bottom is folds upon folds of floating organza, and since my wedding last September I have still been following bridal trends and this is one that they are predicting will be big for the next spring wedding season. I also know the exorbitant prices associated with weddings and I believe that every bride should feel amazing on her wedding day, and you will feel just that in this amazing dress.
