The Dress

This beautiful dress is The Didion by Tadashi Shoji and bought from BHLDN. Now sold out. An all over lace embroidered column gown with long sheer sleeves and neckline / upper back and bodice. It is a floor length dress and has a very slight trail at the back.

I ordered this dress in two different sizes from BHLDN (in the US), to try on for my wedding (our third attempt due to the pandemic). I was unsure about sizing and so I kept both sizes as options. I am normally a size 18-20 but had found that wedding dresses came up quite small, so ordered slightly bigger sizes.

After a lot of searching, trying on options and wishful ordering, this was THE perfect dress that I found.

I wore the smaller size of the two and so I am selling the second dress in the bigger size that I didn’t wear - it has never left the box. I want someone to be able to enjoy this dress, as it deserves to be worn.

It is so comfortable, with jersey lining underneath the more structured embroidered top layer, it looks and feels elegant and photographs well. I love the pattern as it is different from a typical lace shapes - a more intricate and unusual swirly design. The band detail across the waist is very flattering also. Concealed zip fastening at the back. Easy to altar, should it be needed.

The size guide said this is:
Bust - 50’’
Natural waist 46’’
Hip - 50’’
I did find the actual dress to be a lot more generous though. I would say street size if you are a 20 or 22, this would work well.

To be clear, I am selling the extra dress that I ordered and NOT my wedding dress. It is the exact same style but one size up and is brand new with tags. It has never been tried or worn.
